The Logistics tab consists of three sections:

1. Bulk

The bulk inventory is used to track various bulk stock like barite, bentonite, cement, fuel, etc.  The Balance amount (current stock at the end of the report day) is calculated as Start/Received + Previous balance + Used + Adjust.  All these fields require a positive amount (i.e. > 0) except the Adjust field, this field is provided to allow for stock corrections (note the warning below).  The Previous balance is calculated as the Balance value for the previous day.  All bulk records are calculated when the Daily Report is calculated.

The Previous balance value, taken from the previous report, is assumed to be correct.  This may not be the case if bulk data on earlier reports (i.e. before the previous day) were modified.  This can be corrected by calculating the entire well; at least for Bulk data.  In general it is good practice to do this as soon as bulk data for a daily report other than the last 2 days for the well is modified.

Bulk type and unit of measurement (UOM) may be defined in Lookup Data Maintenance.  The combination of type and UOM must be unique.  As shown in the above screenshot, it is sometimes required to track bulk on two different locations (e.g. rig site or camp).  This can be achieved by including the site name in the bulk type description.

2. Vessels / trucks

This data is provided to track a variety of of vessels and trucks.  Supply boats (offshore) and trucks (onshore) can be tracked and (optionally) be recorded with an outward (i.e. delivery to location) Manifest / Delivery Ticket reference.  The Manifest / Return Ticket reference is used for inward equipment movements (i.e. backloads).  There are no restrictions on the format in which these references may be input.

In addition to supply vessels, it is also possible to record and track other vessels, such as standby boats, guard boats and rock dump vessels.  For any other vessels, the option Other is provided.  Helicopters should explicitly not be recorded here.  For this purpose, the next section is provided.

3. Helicopters

Optional tracking of helicopter movements to and from the rig location.  The Helicopter field should be used to identify the helicopter.  This can be any description, but typically it would be the helicopter type and/or assigned flight number.  Arrival time and Departure time are applicable to when the helicopter landed on and departed from location respectively.  Pax off is the number of passengers disembarking the helicopter (i.e. arriving on location).  Pax on is the number of passengers boarding the helicopter (i.e. leaving location).
