Existing wells may be copied into another database by importing the files created with Export Data.
Select [Utility] - [Import data...] in the main menu on the main form and the following dialog box will appear:

Select one or more files to be imported, using [Shift] - [Click] or [Ctrl] - [Click], and click [Open] to import the selected file(s). A dialog box with a progress bar will be displayed during the import process.
A few things should be noted with regards to well imports:
Before importing the file, existing data for the well will be permanently deleted from the database (i.e. the well will be overwritten). This means that if an older file is imported, part of the well data will be lost (i.e. data was added to the well after the export file was generated).
If there is ever any doubt about the import file (e.g. it is suspected to be an older version) then consider making an export of the well before performing the import. If anything is wrong with the import file, it can be rolled back quickly by simply importing the export just made. Even large well files will import and export rather quickly, even on slower computers.
Just before importing the file, the database version from which the export file was generated will be compared to the database version in use. If the database in use is an older version, the export may contain more data tables or data fields that will not be imported. This data will therefore be "lost" (in the database, not in the export file).
As described in Export Data, each well is identified by a globally unique ID. Therefore, two wells with the same ID will be regarded to be the same well, even if they have different well names. When starting a well import, the database will first be checked to see if the same well (by ID) already exists in the database. If this is the case, a warning will be displayed that the existing well will be overwritten. When accepted, the existing will be deleted permanently and import will be performed.
