
Root cause is used in conjunction with non-productive time (NPT) and service interrupt (SI) classifications of daily activities (operations).
Whenever an activity (operations) is classified as NPT and/or SI, a root cause must be provided so that NPT and SI time can be further analyzed.
Root causes may be defined as required to suit company specific requirements, but a suggested list is shown above.
